i2 extends scope to include Summa canisters to its air monitoring services

i2 Analytical is delighted to announce ISO 17025 accreditation for Summa canisters for 65 compounds, with detection limits as low as < 0.5 ppbv.

At our highly skilled laboratory, we have invested in the newest of technologies and instrumentation offering low detection limits, enabling us to provide a standard 5 day turnaround with a faster 3 day turnaround upon request and lab availability. To make sure that we offer the best service, we have designed Summa canister transportation boxes to provide peace of mind that your canister will be protected during transportation from your site to our laboratory.

Superior to Tedlar ® Bags and Sorbent Tubes, a Summa canister is ideal for unknown air sampling and air montoring and it is possible to do ‘bulk gas’ sampling from the same sample. The easy to use canister does not require a separate pump or ancillary equipment to take the sample; the canister is also supplied with a flow controller to regulate air flow over a period of time.

Les Jones, CEO says, “The addition of Summa air monitoring canisters extends our already comprehensive range of environmental testing services available to the industry. Combining the expert knowledge of our in-house team and the capabilities at our unique laboratory enables us to provide a first-class and innovative range of services for our clients. As the needs of the industry continue to grow, we look forward to offering additional services in the future.”

With the increasing pressure from environmental agencies and local authorities, air quality and the monitoring of key air pollutants continues to play an important part in protecting public health and the environment. Public Health England (PHE) advises that ‘air pollution is the biggest environmental threat to health in the UK, with between 28,000 and 36,000 deaths a year attributed to long-term exposure’.
