Sustainability Improvements: Sample Containers

At i2 we continually strive to improve our services whilst reducing the impact we have on the environment. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are excited to announce a strategic shift in our packaging approach that will benefit the environment but also maintain the integrity of the sample.

We understand the importance of minimising waste, reducing carbon emissions associated with transportation, reducing the amount of raw materials in a product, and optimising storage space. With this in mind, we will be reducing the size of our two glass soil jars. This transition offers several key advantages:

  • Reduced Carbon Footprint: By utilising smaller jars, a greater quantity of product can be supplied to i2 in each shipment, thereby reducing the number of deliveries required and overall transporting less weight. This results in a significant decrease in carbon emissions associated with transportation.
  • Minimised Waste: Less sample waste due to smaller sample sizes being submitted.
  • Optimised Storage Space: Switching to smaller jars allows for more effective use of storage space both within i2 and at your site(s), mitigating potential supply issues in the market place, and ensuring availability of resource.
  • Maintained Quality of Analysis: Rest assured, the transition to smaller jars will not compromise the quality or reliability of our services. Our team has rigorously tested and ensured that the new packaging maintains the integrity of the samples and meets our stringent quality standards.

Below are images of our previous jars and our revised version for comparison:

We will be introducing the new 30g and 60g jars in July 2024. Please feel free to use up any of the existing 60g and 250g jars you may have. The plastic tubs will still be required for asbestos, inorganics, leachates, PSDs etc.

This transition aligns with our shared commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to your customer support team, reception@i2analytical.com

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in our journey towards a more sustainable future.
