Agri-Science at i2 Analytical

Since 2007 Pesticide Analytical Technologies (PAT) has been providing accredited analysis to the South African pesticide registration market, servicing both private and government agencies.

In 2017, PAT was acquired by i2 Analytical with a view to expand i2’s presence further in to South Africa and beyond

Within its Pretoria laboratory, PAT/i2 has created two separate facilities; one specialises in the 5-batch and physical chemistry analysis of pesticides for registration purposes whilst the other has been designed for the supporting analysis of field trial work and in-use compound degradation studies.

Accreditation to ISO-17025

PAT has SANAS (South African National Accreditation System) accreditation for raw materials and formulated products of insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, as well as growth regulators using a variety of international methods such as CIPAC, ASTM, AOAC, WHO etc.

Local Contacts, International Support

With a team of permanent staff supported by Susan Marias (founder of PAT and South African CIPAC representative) the in-country team have over 60 years of experience in 5-batch, Phys-Chem and field trial analysis. Combining this local knowledge with a team of dedicated analysts and technical expertise based in two European laboratories, the staff at PAT have a huge resource available to them.

In addition i2 analytical hold import licenses for controlled materials and samples, and as such, are able to accept samples, quickly and conveniently, from anywhere in the world.

We are able to discuss testing requirements, sample sizes, holding times etc. and more often than not can save our clients money by consolidating testing and focussing in on critical analysis and reducing non-essential work. Best of all, the service is free!
