i2 expands Geotechnical scope to include UKAS accreditation for Effective Stress and Rock Testing
Expanding Geotechnical Capability
i2 Analytical expands Geotechnical scope to include UKAS accreditation for Effective Stress and Rock Testing, including Shear strength by direct shear and residual shear using small shear box apparatus (Soil). i2’s UKAS accreditation also encompasses Consolidated Undrained Triaxial Compression test with the measurement of pore water pressure (Soil), point load strength and anisotropy indices on Rock and natural Stone.
As part of our commitment to continual improvement in all aspects of our service, we are always looking to expand upon both the range of testing we can offer, the scope of our accreditation and the areas of business in which we can support our clients.
Within our Geotechnical testing laboratory we are working on an extensive extension to scope program with UKAS, as well as responding to client requirements to provide new and innovative testing solutions.
Within the Consolidation/Shear Strength area we have now added UKAS accreditation to the following services:
Shear strength by direct shear and residual shear using small shear box apparatus (Soil)
Consolidated Undrained Triaxial Compression test with measurement of pore water pressure (Soil)
We have also increased our capability for Rock and Aggregate testing by gaining accreditation for:
And also adding the following new tests to our capabilities:
Crushed & Broken Surfaces
Magnesium Sulphate Soundness Value
Micro Deval
Water Absorption
Particle Density
With an intention to include all within our ETS by September this year.
With this, in addition to our new Red Lab services providing Classification, Compaction and Earthworks testing on asbestos contaminated samples, we can reduce reliance on ‘specialist’ labs and become more of a single solution for any geotechnical requirements.
